On any given weekend, somewhere in the world, there is likely to be an amateur LGBTQ tennis tournament on the Gay and Lesbian Tennis Alliance (GLTA) Tour. Founded 30 years ago and part of the global LGBTQ sports community, the GLTA sanctions 75+ tournaments per year, bringing together thousands of players, at all levels, to compete simply for the love of the game.
Photographer Sidney Beal III has brought this world intimately alive for years. As @LOVE builds our LGBTQ tennis platform, we are honored to feature this exhibit of Mr. Beal's work capturing tournaments in Washington, DC, Tampa, New York, and Boston.
